Aliases
Aliases are human-readable names registered on-chain: send to @username instead of a long address. One registration works across the whole ecosystem. Aliases are already used for receiving payments, authenticating with dApps, and as identities in Zano Matrix.
Registration happens from your own wallet and costs a small on-chain fee. Names shorter than six characters are reserved (see the alias user guide for the exact rules and registration walkthrough).
An alias points at an address you chose to make public. Payments to it still use stealth addresses, so linking a name to an address does not expose your transaction history or balance.
